News on Trafford Road

On 23 August we started the resurfacing work along Trafford Road from The Quays to the M602 Roundabout.

We had planned this work to take place through September and until 22 October but due to unforeseen circumstances, this work will now be extended into November 2022.

Our main works progressing in the Broadway area have been delayed due to uncharted utilities found in the ground. Unfortunately, this has led to design changes and additional work required, which is preventing the resurfacing from progressing in this area until the main works are complete.

We have had to adapt the resurfacing schedule to accommodate these changes and are now working in different areas and on different dates. Please visit the Construction Programme/Key Dates section for a detailed schedule.

Due to the curing time required on the surface course (21 days) before the final, high friction layer, can be applied and because of the delay around Broadway, the resurfacing schedule has been pushed back until November 2022.

Our teams are working to ensure the optimum sequencing of work so that it can be completed as quickly as possible. The current schedule has been adjusted and confirmed up to 15 October.

After 15 October, our teams will need to continue the night shifts later in October and for up to another three weeks in November. A further update with full details on this work will be issued in due course.
