Phase two of resurfacing work starts in May - NIGHT WORKS AND CLOSURES

Overnight resurfacing work will start on part of Trafford Road on 16 May as we now move another step closer to the completion of one of Salford’s biggest schemes.

We are improving every junction along the route to boost the capacity of the road for all users and providing better facilities for pedestrians and cyclists to encourage more green travel. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience during this necessary work.

This is the second phase of the resurfacing work and it will involve the section from Trafford Road bridge to The Quays junction on both sides of the road. The work will be carried out using overnight closures during the week, avoiding match days and other major events to minimise disruption.

We have created a briefing document detailing when and where work will be carried out, road closures, diversion routes and access/exit routes which you can view by clicking this link.

Tram services will not be affected but bus diversions are being planned. Diversions for drivers will be signposted via the A56 and Regent Road.

Resurfacing works between The Quays and the M602 Roundabout will take place in the summer and we will publish the dates as soon as they are planned in.

Please see TfGM’s website for the latest public transport information.

For more details please go to the Construction Programme/Key Dates section of this scheme.
